Urban legend has it that Rainbow 2 is owned by the police. The stage is in the center and it usually features two shifts of 10 dancers, changing every 10 minutes or so. The club is popular and comfortable, a good location to go with a friend, but it’s also very crowded. Visit this place only if you are looking for something specific.

Rainbow 2’s younger brother, this is another popular bar with a wide selection of girls and two stages. It is better for large groups, as it provides snack tables between stages and not all sofas are in a row. The stage has an extra row of chairs, but it is also a crowded place, especially during weekends. If you find a place near the left side stage, you will probably see some topless girls there, as the others only take the bra off when tipped.

One of the small locales on the first floor, the Playskool is also a center stage bar which can feature up to 80 girls. The oldest in the Rainbow chain, and one of the most popular go-go bars in all of Bangkok, it stands out with its particularly beautiful girls. The setting is similar to Rainbow 2, making it a good place to go drink with a bunch of friends, but if you only want to look, the girls will be rather discreet, but their outfits are a lot better compared to the usual bars.

One of the freshest bars in the Nana complex (opened in November 2013), it has more of a classy look compared to the rest, and it offers a rather private setting. The stage is in the shape of a cross with many poles and bar chairs around it. There are usually ten girls on stage, and the waiters are also dressed in provocative outfits. The music is western rock, while most of the go-go bars play dance or Thai music, but it employs a classy and lounge atmosphere rather than a party one. The girls are pretty, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you want to leave with a companion.

Angelwitch is also among the most well known go-go bars in Bangkok, and a must-see. The waiters are casually dressed, but the girls have an elegant outfit of black stockings and over-knee high heel boots. They are very pretty, and usually they are already chosen if you end up too late. Angelwitch is one of the few bars that features professional choreography of up to 5 girls, and they go all the way. Also one of the core go-go bars in Nana Plaza, and one of the oldest, Spanky`s gets so crowded, you sometimes have trouble getting a seat, or even entering, especially on weekends. However, that makes the workers very easy going and not at all pushy. The locale is small, but surely one of the best, and it offers a shower booth under which the girls play. What really makes Spanky’s stand out from the other bars is their high quality shows, making it a great place for lounge and watching the dancers while cooling off with a cocktail. A show takes place every 15 minutes, with a selection in between, during which the girls strip completely. If it’s your birthday, or you are there on a bachelor’s party, don’t forget to mention it to the staff, and you might be included in the show. Considering the relatively low drink prices compared to what it has to offer, it is definitely one of the best places to go in Bangkok.

The Billboard is by far the best bar in Nana Plaza. It is quite big and the dance shows are high quality, with intricate choreography and themed clothing, and they involve girl-to-girl interaction as well. The shows occupy most of the program, and the selection times are shorter compared to other bars. Waiters wear schoolgirl uniform and they are very open and kind. The place also features a big jacuzzi, one of their main attractions, where several girls play most of the time. Seats are provided in front of the tub for customers so you can have a beer while watching. Regardless of what you seek, don’t miss the Billboard’s shows which runs for about 45 minutes.

Ladyboys – If you are looking for Thailand’s best (known) kept secret – the ladyboys – there are plenty around Nana Plaza too. There are also ladyboy exclusive clubs, such as Obssession, but regardless of what you choose, make sure you always pay the bar fine. This is a sort of guarantee, as in Thailand many sex workers are bent on robbing and cheating. With a bar fine, you know for sure that your partner is not going to try to double cross you in any way.
How to choose a girl – The dancing girls have numbers. If you like one, you can tell the waitress her number and she will bring her over. Make sure to buy her drinks if you want her to stay. This is not for her sake, but the locale’s policy. They are supposed to consume your drink money.
Prices – Remember that the bar fine is completely different to the price you pay for the girl’s time. The bar fine is not negotiable, while the price is. The latter depends a lot on your looks and on your age. If the girl likes you, she will negotiate. Time is another price factor, and a good tip to get a girl cheaper, especially if you like her a lot, is to wait until late (3-4 am) and either save on the bar fine by asking her to come with you after closing, or further negotiating the price. How to get there – Nana is situated midway between Ploen Chit and Nana skytrain stations. If you come from Nana, take Exit #2 from the station and it will lead up to Soi 4 on Sukhumvit road. If you come from Ploen Chit BTS take Exit #4.
